José Donoso

Serving as a founding member, representing UNEF (Spanish National Photovoltaic Association) as Director General, and as a Co-Chair of the organization, Jose Donoso has been elected by the board to be Chairman of the Global Solar Council in 2021.

He has been working in the Renewable Sector for more than 30 years.
He started off in the Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving (IDAE), where he was the director of the International Department between 1987 and 2001.
From 2001 until 2011 he was Development Director in Gamesa, a Spanish Wind Energy company. Between 2008 and 2011 he was the president of the Spanish Wind Energy Association (AEE).

In 2012 he becomes Director General of UNEF (Spanish National Photovoltaic Association). He is also President of the Spanish Photovoltaic Platform of R+D (Fotoplat) and Member of the Advisory Council of the Organization of Electricity Market (OMEL).

Besides, he is professor in the post grade course in Wind Energy of the University Polytechnic of Madrid.
