Location: Remote

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and versatile Communications & Events Officer. In this position, the officer will play a key role in supporting our communications and events activities at the global scale to promote the rapid adoption of solar energy. The Officer will work closely with the GSC team and collaborate with members and partners on projects, event partnerships, and campaigns.

Responsibilities
  • Manage GSC’s social media accounts and create content for our channels
  • Maintain and add new content to the GSC website
  • Manage press relations such as press lists, drafting press releases and opinion pieces, pitching stories to press and managing media requests
  • Manage email campaigns and newsletters
  • Manage the GSC brand standard internally and externally
  • Create and manage campaigns to support objectives of GSC
  • Organize events and manage GSC event partnerships
  • Develop messaging and talking points for members and GSC team
  • Support the Policy and Business Development Departments in development of external materials
  • And other related tasks as needed
Profile
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in communications;
  • Passion and good understanding of solar energy and the green energy transition;
  • Experience in coordinating projects or activities at a global scale and across cultures;
  • Experience using communications tools such as LinkedIn, X, WeChat, Mailchimp, Canva, WordPress;
  • Experience with design and video editing;
  • A team player who works well with others and is a self-starter;
  • Versatility and willingness to support other activities of the GSC;
  • Fluency in English (native or equivalent), other languages including Mandarin Chinese will be considered an asset.

  • Remote working from anywhere in the world, must have right to work in your chosen country; London, Shanghai, Munich, New Delhi, New York, Singapore, Nairobi, Sao Paolo or other major hubs for international business would be desirable but not essential.
  • Attractive salary dependent on location and experience with possibility for discretionary bonus structure with element of performance related pay.
