GSC meets its members at Intersolar 2022 to update on its activities and discuss way forward for COP27
As part of its presence at Intersolar 2022, the Global Solar Council organized a meeting with its members on May the 12th to offer a progress update on the activities of the Council. A special focus was dedicated to the global campaign supported by the European Climate Foundation “Empowering people to join the race to net-zero with solar PV”, which includes a benchmarking on the authorization processes for the distributed sector, as well as to the plan and strategy for engagement in COP27 where GSC seeks to bring strong messages from the global solar industry.
GSC is a key partner of the Marrakech Partnership for Global Climate Action under the UNFCCC, which will organize the Energy Day at COP27. The Partnership supports the implementation of the Paris Agreement under the "Race to Zero Campaign" by enabling collaboration between governments and the cities, regions, businesses and investors that must act on climate change. COP27 will take place in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, from 7-18 Nov 2022.
Intersolar Europe is one of the world's leading trade fairs for the solar industry, where the global solar energy value chain meets to exchange information about the latest developments and trends, experience innovations up close and use business potential.
The meeting represented an opportunity to collect feedback from the members as well as a moment of discussion about the activities of GSC. At such crucial juncture, GSC took the opportunity of this meeting to follow up on the campaign launched in support of Ukraine, with the participation of the Solar Energy Association of Ukraine.
