Insights & Perspectives
How did you get started in the solar sector and what brought you to GSC?
I am actually pretty new in the Solar Industry. I have worked in the climate context, as an activist, campaigner, and communication strategist for 3 years, following a drive that sparked during my uni days. I got to GSC through a friend who told me about this organization and how much of an impact it has brought. I was excited about joining!
What’s your role at GSC?
I am communications and events officer. I take care of all the communication on social media, press, and in general, I make sure that the potential of solar power and energy transition -- as a whole -- knocks on everyone’s door through powerful storytelling!
What are your priorities for GSC and its members in 2024?
My priorities are driving change and ensuring the development of solar energy though compelling communication, using any channels at my disposal.
What do you see as the greatest challenge or opportunity for the global solar sector today?
The greatest challenge is coping with the misconceptions around solar energy and the misinformation that usually slows down the development of this powerful energy resource. The greatest opportunity is bringing energy everywhere in the World with an accessible and responsible impact.
What’s one solar myth you wish you could bust once and for all?
One myth I wish I could bust once and for all, it’s probably the one about how solar energy is efficient only in hot or mostly sunny countries.
What initiative at GSC has you most excited about right now?
I'm really looking forward to COP30, as it will be my first-ever COP. I'm excited to meet the global game-changers driving the climate transition and the solar energy revolution.
